Robert Domingue
March 24, 1937 – June 8, 2025
Robert had been the club’s editor since 1984, taking over the Philatelic Freemason with the May-June 1984 issue, Volume 8 Number 1.
Robert Alton Domingue (Bob), 88, lifelong resident of Andover, Massachusetts, died Sunday at Prescott House in North Andover surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on March 24, 1937 to the late Robert P. and Jennie May (Beverly) Domingue. He was a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover and received his degree in engineering from Lehigh University.
Robert was employed as an aerospace engineer and program manager until his retirement. He lived a richly celebrated life defined by family and friends with many interests including service in the community. He embraced life’s simple joys including special occasions with family and friends, summers in Maine, driving throughout New England with Joyce as the chauffeur and playing cards and games. Bob was the author of 10 books including a book on Phillips Academy (which he attended on a full scholarship), postcard books of Maine where he spent his summers and a series on the Veteran’s of Andover where he enjoyed meeting and interviewing each one. Bob was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Andover. He received a National Service Award from the Veterans.
Bob’s lifelong hobbies included photography, stamp collecting and he was an avid history buff. As a philatelist, his passion led to a 30-year position as editor of the Masonic Philatelist quarterly newsletter and was a member of the Samuel Osgood stamp club. He was inducted into the elite Society of Blue Friars and was an Eagle Scout..
Gene Fricks
Gene is a native of Knoxville, TN and resides in southern New Jersey.
Gene has served as editor of The Collectors Club Philatelist for 18 years and is a former Board member. A Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society London and a life member and past vice president of the American Philatelic Society, and a Luff Awardee for service to philately. He served as the 2014 president of APS Writers Unit #30 and the Masonic Study Unit of the ATA.
A retired international judge, he has formed numerous award winning exhibits based on locations with a personal connection. He is a director of the International Society of Portuguese Philately and a member of numerous other groups.
Masonically, he served as a Past Deputy General Grand High Priest, General Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons International; a nineth grade frater for the Societas Rosicrucianis; intendant general, Red Cross of Constantine; and a Soverign Grand Inspector General Honorary 33deg for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the USA.
Professionally, he is a registered engineer in private practice in program leadershp and executive management.
