Do You Have Something You Would Like to Contribute?
Donate to GWMSC: Help Us Build Our Online History Collection
Looking to donate to GWMSC? Do you have old photos or papers related to Masonic philately or club history? Share them with us! We want to save our local history for everyone to see online.
What We Need
- Old Photos: Pictures, images of stamps, old lodge buildings, postcards, masonic fancy cancels, cachet covers, streets, and community events.
- Important Papers: Letters, diaries, old maps, club notes, and event flyers.
- Stamps/Philatelic Information: Information about Masons on stamps, especially George Washington. As you view our database of stamps and biographies, if you see something we’re missing or that you think would fit in nicely, let us know.
- Stories: Tales about the people, places and things about philately, Freemasonry, but especially about masonic philately.
How to Share
- Scan and Send: Scan your photos or papers at home and email them to us. Digital scans work well for most photos and documents, and you don’t need to mail anything if you can send files electronically.
- If you have something but are unable to scan or photograph it, contact our webmaster directly.
Why Donate to GWMSC Matters
- Save History: Keep old memories, philately and Freemasonry alive for future generations. When you donate to GWMSC, you help preserve one-of-a-kind items that would otherwise be lost, scattered among relatives, or discarded over time.
- Share Stories: Help neighbors and students learn. Even a short anecdote about a family member’s involvement in Freemasonry or philately can add valuable context to our archives for future researchers.
Every item you send helps GWMSC tell a fuller story of Masonic philately and local club history. Whether you donate to GWMSC a single postcard or a whole box of old papers, your contribution becomes part of a permanent online record that members and researchers can reference for years to come. If you’re not sure whether something is worth sharing, reach out to us and we’ll be happy to take a look.
